Morahkiev Shadowgate

Warrior - Reluctant Void Summoner - Cursed Mortal

Prologue

Upbringing and exodus

Morahkiev was born in the Steppe, to the Dotharl Tribe. Known for their belief in reincarnation, the ugdan recognized his soul upon his birth, though his identity was not to be celebrated. A warrior he was and would be, but with his identity carried a curse of darkness that the tribe was remiss to discuss. The Xaela felt this shadow follow him, though he grew up strong and determined to make his mark as a valued member of the tribe. Taking on the spear as his favored weapon, he learned to fight, to hunt, to survive and heed the spiritual beliefs of his people. But the dark brand on his name had a way of catching up with him.He doesn't often talk about what led him to leave the Steppe, but when asked, he speaks of blood on his hands and creatures following him from the beyond. Travels took him across Othard, across the sea, to Kugane, and eventually to Eorzea. Using his talents as a warrior as a means for Mercenary work, he sought out mentorship. He would learn Magick, how to control the darkness that was drawn to him. Thaumaturgy, the arcanist's arts, conjuration... He studied everything he could, with only more questions raised the more he learned. Soon he could sense the horrors that lurked in the dark.... And in many cases, he could communicate with them. Summon them. Bind them.

His uncanny senses drew him in and out of danger. He could now weave Aether, and with it he could close portals he may or may not have torn into existence. With a hunger to learn and an instinct that drove him, he followed danger up through the Coerthan highlands towards Ishgard. The Dravanian horde challenged his abilities, and the coin was plentiful with fiercer quarries. It was around this time he felt his eerie sixth sense draw him towards an otherwise unassuming house. Hooded figures offered the delights of free drink and more... But Morahkiev would soon learn how his curse would become a boon, or perhaps, a key towards even greater downfall.
